Superintendent of Schools

The Lexington Board of Education has selected Sarrah Morgan to lead the district as the next superintendent. Ms. Morgan has served the district as a teacher, counselor, and administrator over the course of the past thirteen years. In her nineteen years as an educator, she has worked with students Pre-K through adult.  She is a proud parent of two LHS graduates, and four current Lexington students, as she and her family reside within the school district. Her husband, Derek, is a lifelong Lexington resident, retired Army National Guard Master Sergeant, and current Lexington business owner.

The Board of Education appreciates the trust and patience of the staff and community as the board diligently worked to select the right individual to help guide the district to success. Ms. Morgan will officially begin her duties on July 1.

The Lexington School Board, with assistance from EdCounsel, has identified several great candidates that meet the characteristics of our next superintendent, identified by our stakeholders.

The Board has diligently reviewed the candidates credentials and interviewed each candidate over the past week.

The Board is currently narrowing the list of candidates and will interview finalists in the very near future. An announcement of the next Lexington Superintendent should be made soon after graduation.

On Wednesday, April 24, the Lexington R-V Board of Education received a report in relation to what characteristics stakeholders want to see in their next superintendent.  After receiving the report, the board voted to engage EdCounsel in a targeted superintendent search.  The Board will be interviewing internal and external candidates over the course of the next two weeks.

The characteristics identified are:  Someone who will bring longevity to the position, which will create stability and consistency.  Someone who will possess strong oral and written communication skills, a demonstrated love for children, strong leadership skills, and an understanding of the operational areas of the school district.
